An organisation is your team’s account in Ankra. It holds the clusters, the people who can reach them and what each person may do, and the credentials and variables every cluster shares. If you work for more than one team or customer, each gets its own organisation, and you switch between them. How Ankra Works shows where the organisation sits in the overall model.

Accessing Your Organisation

Open your current organisation directly from anywhere in Ankra.
  1. Click your profile icon in the menu at the bottom left of the Ankra platform.
  2. Select Organisation.
  3. You land straight on your current organisation’s overview - members, stats, roles, audit log, billing, and settings are in the sidebar.

Switching Organisations

Switch between organisations to see the resources, stacks, and credentials for each one.
  • In the profile menu, hover Switch organisation to see every organisation you belong to. Your current organisation is marked with a check - click any other one to switch to it. The list scrolls, and the search box at the top narrows it by name, slug or id as you type: just start typing anywhere in the submenu, then press Enter to switch to the first match or use the arrow keys to pick one.
  • All organisations at the bottom of that submenu (it shows how many you belong to) opens the full list as a page, including pending invitations. The page has the same search, shows your current organisation first, pages through the rest twenty at a time, and has a switch button per organisation.
  • You can also switch from the command palette with the Switch Organisation command.
  • When you switch, your active session updates to reference that organisation. You’ll see only the stacks, clusters, and credentials for the selected organisation.

Inviting Users

Invite teammates to your organisation by email and assign their role.
  • To add people, click Add User in the organisation view.
  • Enter the user’s email address to send an invitation.
  • Choose the role the invitation grants.

Managing Users & Roles

Ankra has five built-in roles - Owner, Admin, Operator, Member and Viewer - plus custom roles you define, and each can be assigned to the whole organisation, one cluster, or a cluster group. See Roles & Access for what each role grants and how to assign one.
  • To remove a user, use the menu next to their name in the user list.

Organisation Variables

Variables set on the organisation apply to every cluster and Stack in it, and a cluster or Stack variable of the same name overrides them. Where to set them and how precedence works is on the Variables page.
