Guided setup walks an organisation admin from nothing to a working AI team. Open it from AI → Home - the first-run hero links to it, and until setup is complete the page footer shows how far along you are. Progress is read live from your organisation’s settings, not stored per user: a step is complete because the thing it configures is actually configured, any admin sees the same state, and every step can be redone later. Members who are not admins get a read-only tour of the same checklist.

The steps

The checklist has seven steps, or five when AI Agents is switched off for your organisation - the two board steps need it.
1

Connect a model

Pick the LLM the AI runs on - the Ankra default works out of the box, or bring your own key. Complete once an active provider is configured. See Models and Cost and Use your own OpenRouter API key.
2

Autonomy & guardrails

Decide how far the AI may go on its own when an alert fires. Complete once the auto-remediation policy is enabled. See AI Autonomy.
3

Connections

Bind Slack or a delivery webhook so approvals and findings reach your team. Complete once Slack is connected or at least one delivery webhook is enabled. See AI Connections.
4

Staff the board

Designate the agent that works tickets. Nothing is staffed by default: until an agent is designated, every ticket the AI files is escalated straight to a person, and no agent works it. Complete once at least one enabled agent that can act is designated as a board worker. See AI Autonomy.
5

Plan review

Bind the agent that reviews drafted plans, or turn the review requirement off. Out of the box plans require a review and no reviewer is bound, so every drafted plan waits in review. Complete once a reviewer is bound or the requirement is off.
6

Proactive insights

Let the AI scan clusters continuously and raise findings before they page you - a single toggle, right in the checklist. See AI Insights.
7

Review & launch

A recap of every step, then straight to AI Home or the Inbox. You can launch with steps incomplete; the AI just does less on its own.
Each step links to the settings page that owns it, and expands in place with a Configure or Redo action - the checklist is a launcher, the settings pages stay the source of truth.

Recipes

Below the steps, admins get shortcuts for the most common next moves: teach the AI your runbooks, add an integration tool, set up a nightly cluster health agent, or build an on-alert workflow in Automations. The last two appear only when AI Agents and Automations are enabled for your organisation.
